And then, in a loopy irrelevant plot twist, we see Sophia and Serena at a bar, placing bets about when Castle and Beckett will get their respective acts together and just go buy the rings already.  

Am I the only one who doesn’t hate Sophia right now, hasn’t hated her yet, and doesn’t plan on hating her at all? I mean, really. Castle has an 18 year old daughter. CLEARLY he has slept with other women. He’s entitled to a past. And I think Sophia has already been helpful to Caskett because she’s causing Beckett to ask questions and open up to Castle about her fears and insecurities, even if it’s just in baby steps and kind of indirectly at this point. Any forward progress is a good thing! Plus, just saying: IT’S JENNIFER FREAKING BEALS okay?!

I’m pro-Sophia all the way. She’s awesome in her own right AND, as said above, only helping to further Castle/Beckett relationship growth in a positive direction.  She’s really not trying to get in the way of their relationship (current or future) at all.  Jennifer Beals made that clear in an interview pre-Pandora airing.  Also, Jennifer Beals is fantastic and should always guest star on ALL THE SHOWS.
